When God calls, you have to answer

Menard Gaspi devoted 14 years to working as a missionary before he decided to take the next step towards a life dedicated to serving God as a priest.

“I grew up Catholic. From a young age I would serve at our Church and I always thought about the priesthood. After high school, I joined a religious order, ministering interstate and overseas, then felt God's call to come home to continue my journey.

“My vocation was nurtured in my family. My love for family and missionary experience has guided my desire to serve the Lord and His Church.

I believe that’s where my gifts and talents can bear the most fruit. I grew up in Western Sydney and feel honoured to answer the call to serve here.”

Help men called to become beacons of Christ’s light

Answering God’s call to embark upon a life of service is a brave decision requiring an incredible leap of faith – and we must do all we can to support our seminarians on their important spiritual journeys.  

Thanks to the support of people like you, our Holy Spirit Seminary in Harris Park is forming 14 men to become priests for our Diocese. As their brothers and sisters in Christ, we are called to walk beside them on their journeys to becoming beacons of light for Christ.

As our Diocese continues to grow, we need to support more men like Menard, Patrick and Victor, to answer God’s call. I invite you to be the extended formation community for our seminarians preparing for a life of service to God and you, His people.

Thank you for your kind prayers, support and accompaniment in forming good shepherds of Christ’s flock.
