Support our seminarians to answer
God’s call to the priesthood

PLEASE GIVE GENEROUSLY TO THE BISHOP’S GOOD SHEPHERD APPEAL

Our future shepherds and disciples of Jesus Christ

In the Diocese of Parramatta, our Holy Spirit Seminary, Harris Park provides the education and formation required for young men to prepare to enter the priesthood.  Seminarians and priests are essential to the life of our Church. As our Diocese expands, we must be prepared to meet the needs of our faith community.

During the years of training at Holy Spirit Seminary, seminarians take part in human, spiritual, intellectual and pastoral formation. While there is a focus on daily prayer and contemplation as well as theological and philosophical study and discussion, these young men also spend time on subjects such as sports, music and public speaking.

Become part of their extended formation community

This year we were blessed with three new seminarians. They have joined their brothers in Christ in formation at our Holy Spirit Seminary and are completing their first year of studies.

We all have a commitment to supporting our seminarians on their journey to answer God’s call. Their formation and education is the responsibility of the wider Catholic community, and as their faith family it is our duty to offer them our ongoing support and prayers.

With your kind gift and prayerful support our seminarians can continue to grow in their human and spiritual lives.

“Priestly vocations are nurtured and formed in the womb of the family, the womb of the seminary, but also the womb of the larger Catholic community here in the Diocese.

We all have a part to play, we all have a mothering role to play, indeed, in this process, to contribute to the formation and growth of these young men into those stewards and nurturers of God’s alternative community of faith, hope and love.

May the grace of God the Father and the Holy Spirit be with you and your loved ones.”
